# Add Tenant Custom Nameserver

POST/tenants/{tenant\_tag}/custom\_ns

Adds a custom nameserver for a tenant.

##### Security

API Token

The preferred authorization scheme for interacting with the Cloudflare API. [Create a token](https://developers.cloudflare.com/fundamentals/api/get-started/create-token/).

**Example:**`Authorization: Bearer Sn3lZJTBX6kkg7OdcBUAxOO963GEIyGQqnFTOFYY`

API Email + API Key

The previous authorization scheme for interacting with the Cloudflare API, used in conjunction with a Global API key.

**Example:**`X-Auth-Email: user@example.com`

The previous authorization scheme for interacting with the Cloudflare API. When possible, use API tokens instead of Global API keys.

A and AAAA records associated with the nameserver.

DNS record type.

value: Optional\[str\]

DNS record contents (an IPv4 or IPv6 address).

ns\_name: str

The FQDN of the name server.

formathostname

Deprecatedstatus: Literal\["moved", "pending", "verified"\]

Verification status of the nameserver.

One of the following:

"moved"

"pending"

"verified"

zone\_tag: str

Identifier.

ns\_set: Optional\[float\]

The number of the set that this name server belongs to.
